It's only 55 right now but we expect it to get 67 by Christmas Day

That's here on the coast near San Francisco. However, if you want snow you can also be in 39 degrees at lake Tahoe too at 6000 feet a few hours a way by car. And since storms aren't coming south much as far as this you can get there without much trouble.

It's been a very cold (down to freezing at night) and somewhat stormy December but there's no rain in sight far into January at this point. There might be little storms but they won't do much to help with the drought and San Luis Reservoir last I heard is at 26% capacity which is not good for this time of year considering what the past few years have been like and other reservoirs are almost empty too. But, we did get one big storm that knocked down enough trees to put out our electricity for 6 hours two different days during the storms.

I woke up this morning to hear something that sounded like a tree coming down nearby but my wife thinks it was a garbage truck going by in the early morning darkness before the sun came up. If you have ever heard a large tree go down like I have it is an unmistakable sound.

But, this house we are in is very well insulated with a good heating system so it's warm here this winter which is nice and cozy for us here on the Northern Coast of California within 1 mile of the ocean.

I've been walking our corgi along the beach almost every day for exercise and one day it was warm enough to go barefoot which was nice experience walking barefoot along the beach. That day there was no wind and the sun was out so even though it wasn't over 58 degrees it was warm enough in the sun to walk barefoot which was great.
