These are the Highs today Friday July 21st 2023 Along the coast from Seattle to San Diego
Seattle 78
Portland Oregon 88
Eureka California 61
San Francisco 71
Monterey 62
Santa Barbara 76
Santa Monica 75
San Diego 74
The point being that the lowest temperatures likely in mainland U.S. this week are from the state of Wshington Coast to the Oregon Coast to the California coast if you don't have air conditioning where you are now. If you have air conditioning and air conditioning in your car likely you are okay wherever you are.
Where I live because the temperatures are relatively cold this time of year usually under 65 during the day and in the 50s at night we don't have air conditioning because it is only about 3 days a year when we might actually need it. But, this year could be different. We will just wait and see.
when I was in Mt. Shasta it got pretty warm up into the high 90s and the same with Portland in the 80s and 90s and we are used to much colder temperatures and living at sea level so higher temperatures aren't that great for us because I'm 75 and my wife is 68. So, it was nice to return to the fog and mist of the San Francisco coastal area from our trip north a few weeks ago. I miss the sun but not the heat. But, I can drive inland a few miles (5,10, 20) depending upon the day if I want to see the sun too that day.
