Before Covid (likely fall of 2019 we were landing on Kauai at Lihue Airport and the plane was hit by a wind shear and so as we landed the plane was going to hit the ground flying sideways then. It was terrifying because I'm also a pilot and knew how serious this was and that we likely were going to die. However, the pilot must have had the reflexes of an olympic star and pedaled us out of this near fatal landing in the last 1/2 second before we landed. Even the stewards of the flight talked about quitting their jobs after that landing.
The 2nd really scary landing was last fall landing at Kahului, Maui Airport where it was incredibly bumpy from Kauai to Maui and then as we were landing I knew when I looked out the window that if she landed this time we would crash. But, luckily, the pilot who was a lady pilot pulled us out from about 10 feet before landing so we didn't crash and all die. She flew around the island one more time and was able to land without killing is the 2nd try. However, even the 2nd try was barely possible without crashing but we did it anyway. I was so distraught and confused by how scary this was that I thought we had landed on the other airport on the other side of the island nearer to Ka'anapali and Lahaina which are towns on the western side of Maui.
