We have on the west coast what is called "The Pineapple Express" where moisture filled clouds come from the vicinity of Hawaii and hit anywhere from Baja California to Seattle and Vancouver. So, what I'm thinking is the 1000 miles of clouds is now hitting Seattle right now as I look at the radar weather map at KSBW Radar

It's also hitting as far south as Portland, Oregon too. And then it tends to move eastward across the U.S. from there. Also, there is snow various places from Washington all the way to North Dakota from all this precipitation too now and in the next few days.
