53 mile per hour winds in Big Sur

The Storm is finally starting to hit from Mexico north in various places up and down the coast. However, the 53 mile per hour winds in Big Sur are significant for places like Monterey, Santa Cruz and even San Francisco and points north. Power outages could be taking place in various northern Counties here in California especially along the coast where the winds have no mountains or trees to slow them down until they hit the coast from the ocean.

So, today I took all of my lighter deck chairs off my deck so they couldn't be blown through sliding glass doors or windows or cause other damage along the way. Rain may hit here starting about now I'm told but also it might also miss this area for now. What is really strange is that it is balmy and warmer and feels sort of like being in Hawaii right now which makes me think that this atmospheric river is a Pineapple Express that usually comes from Hawaii instead of one of the ones out of Alaska that are usually much much colder and tend to bring snow to the mountains in California when that happens.

But, the ones that tend to cause the most damage are also Atmospheric Rivers out of the Pineapple Express storms from the tropics. Whenever this area floods they mostly come from the tropics. They also tend to cause the most power outages too.
