We finally got some significant rain for several hours last night. My wife woke me up to tell me about the downpour and I heard it rain in a cloudburst on the roof for some time. At least in our area likely from now until May or June there will be no fire danger at all because of this heavy heavy downpour. But, then again almost no fires at all this last year at all partly because of 15 Atmospheric Rivers and Hurricane Hilary which inundated places like Palm Springs with 10 or 11 inches of rain and mud and a lot of flooding in that area. It created a lot of havoc from Palm Springs all the way north up the Sierras through Mt. Shasta and into Idaho I believe in July or August. Because of this almost no fire season at all in 2023 here in California which is good.
It's also started to rain a significant amount here on Saturday at around 1pm too. We really need the rain because there has been no real rain much since Hurricane Hilary except for a few drizzles. So, it's good to see the rain starting up too now.
Today as I drove down to the beach I noticed that there were mud puddles everywhere which didn't exist even yesterday. So, the cloudbursts last night and the light rain today has changed everything on the ground.
