The weather was really amazing and likely the warmest temperatures I have seen since probably October or November. We actually saw temperatures up to 77 or 78 degrees which was pretty amazing after all the weather we have had since Christmas. Relatively speaking, there isn't as much damage generally as there was this time last year from the 15 Atmospheric Rivers hit and threw 50 to 100 pound rocks from the ocean up through wooden fences onto roads along the coast. So, these rocks were thrown by storms 100 yards or more to accomplish this. You wouldn't have wanted to be there when 100 pound rocks were being thrown 100 yards towards you by the way.
It was incredibly green everywhere which is unusual for California until maybe this year or last year when it appears our drought cycle the last 24 years somewhat ended at least for now. I think we have about 85% normal Snow pack in the Sierras with more to come Monday and on Thursday through Sunday this week.
Even today as I write this inland it is in the low 70s even though along the coast it is beautiful and sunny and here where I am about 59 degrees going to around 62 today for a high (I live about one mile from the ocean where I live. When we chose this house we wanted to make sure it could survive a 100 foot tidal wave from a Tsunami so we are about 300 feet vertically above Sea Level here in order to survive something like that.
Anyway, it was a really beautiful journey north and almost no traffic at all so my wife and I were very happy with all the green rolling hills and oak trees and vineyards and all as we traveled north on 101 towards the Bay Area.
