Huge rain drops like Hawaii and the tropics here in this storm along the coast of California

I'm not surprised at the winds and storm totals of snow so far (and there will be at least 2 more days of this it looks like right now and another storm on Wednesday also.

Here on the coast the unusual part of this storm is that the rain drops are huge like in the tropics. I have read that as temperatures rise the amount of moisture in clouds also increases and this causes both flooding some places and droughts other places.

Obviously the Panhandle of Texas must be in a drought to be at 15% to 17% humidity and unfortunately they are also getting some of the winds from the Sierra storm too which likely won't help them put out the fire anytime soon either (at least for now).

The storm here just makes huge waves and amazing waves crashing on the rocks and putting spray up 50 to 75 feet into the air or more. So, this is a really impressive time to visit the northern California coast if you like big waves and storms. However, it isn't very warm even during the day which was supposed to be 54 at the highest so you want to be covered up enough not to get chilled from the rain if you are going out in it. I walked the dog along with my adult daughter who is visiting today and we got rained on periodically but both of us had rain jackets with hoods on to stay relatively dry even in the rain.

So, it's not as life threatening here as it is inland in the Sierras. I hope everyone survives this storm in the Sierras. Also, Avalanches are possible all over the Sierras right now so I hope people don't trigger them skiing or snow boarding or even snow shoeing in the wrong places during these times.
