My wife and I spoke with one of the Conductors on the Amtrak Surfliner and we found that a boulder had fallen on the tracks somewhere near Carpenteria which is just south of Santa Barbara proper. The Conductor told us that something like this had happened near San Diego and they weren't able to reopen the tracks for two weeks before.
So, I think for now surfliner riders will be taken by bus from Santa Barbara to Oxnard where they will be put on another Surfliner Train sent up from further south. And logically the south bound Surfliner now in Santa Barbara which cannot go further south likely will return north on Schedule from Santa Barbara Northbound to points north?
