It's useful to mankind to have people like this because the people who listen to them might not die as children or young adults if they listen to people like this.
I'm thinking that tribes survived Volcanoes going off and floods and tornadoes down through the centuries for 100s of thousands of years or more when they had one or more people who could predict when certain things were going to happen. Being intuitive is a part of a Tribe's survival and always would be.
The next way to predict the future is to profile the future like we do when Global Warming gets worse and weather reports come out. The people who can get out of the way of tornadoes and fires and Hurricanes and out of dangerous buildings during larger earthquakes are the ones that will survive. The rest might not.
So, having a precognitive that is accurate about "Seeing" the future before it happens saves lives and prevents various kinds of mayhem from happening to the people rescued because they listened to someone who was a precognitive intuitive in a life or death situation that they likely didn't know about until it arose.
This is how human extinction likely was avoided because if you study anthropology the human race almost went extinct at one point.
