Palm Springs will be 111 to 117 this week if you want to feel what the heat is like and they have good hospitals there in case you go into heat prostration so you are less likely to die in the heat there. Also, Palm Springs and Las Vegas are very dry usually and you can survive easier from about 110 to 125 degrees in dry weather whereas in humid weather this could kill you outright.
But, Palm Springs and Las Vegas are much more potentially survivable than Death Valley this time of year. I would NEVER go to Death Valley this time of year simply because I have already had heat prostration too many times already and the fact that I'm now 76 years old.
