For example, there was an incident at our housekeeper's school that was potentially dangerous so she put her daughter on Independent study at that public High school in order to protect her daughter from harm. However, that was two years ago when she was a sophomore and so this year she decided to return to school because the problem likely has gone now.
When I lived in Mt. Shasta with my 2nd wife my oldest stepson I was raising along with my 2nd wife went to a grade school that was divided because of too many children in the school. So, they sent the 4th to 6th Grades to the Junior high school to deal with the overcrowding problem of children. Immediately an 8th grader broke the jaw of a 4th grader. We withdrew all our children from school in protest then in 1980 I believe and put them on independent study with Oak Meadow school. We moved to our remote land then and home schooled all three of our kids (2 of hers and one of mine from my first marriage) for around 5 years until the oldest boy was 12 years old. Then he wanted to go to public school again so we bought another business and moved to the SF BAY area so the three of them could return safely to public School.
