Langtang Mountain: My friend from College climbed this peak in likely April or may of 1986
Then in 1986 likely after we flew back to San Francisco my friend stayed and climbed Langtang Mountain in Nepal with other western Climbers he met there in Nepal. At that time you could literally rent anything you needed in Kathmandu, Nepal like Crampons for ice climbing on your boots to ice Axes to Sleeping Bags to Down Jackets to Sunglasses and wool hats and even provisions and canteens to carry water and gloves and ropes and all that likely left or sold there by previous climbers who didn't want to pay for shipping all that stuff back to the U.S. at that time in 1985 and 1986.
My friend and I used to rock climb in my 20s in Yosemite National Park and we also climbed Mt. Shasta together with other friends to the top in August of 1970 then when I was 22 years old and still in College and so was he going to UCLA then. Eventually he got his Master's degree in 1976 from UCLA.
