If there is one thing I have noticed in my life is that violent rhetoric often goes two ways. If you are going to threaten people then often other people are going to threaten you too. So, it's better to be polite if you want to stay alive yourself.
Violent Rhetoric people often die violently.
This is just a variation of:
"He who lives by the sword often dies by the Sword".
