what I find strange about this storm is it continues unabated now for 7 days straight until next Monday!

 For Some areas (like those areas north of San Francisco for example. How often have you heard of any storm at all lasting in any area 7 days or more? This doesn't happen very often so if disasters hit like this there might not be help coming until after Monday many places like the Sierras (from feet of snow) or from Flooding (anywhere in the North of the state here in California or Oregon.)

So, if something bad happens (anywhere in Northern California or Oregon) there might be no way to get any help until after Monday. So, Tuesday or after someone might rescue you in ther Sierras on a snowmobile for example after 5 to 10 feet fall of snow. And if the snow is powder then forget the snowmobiles rescuing you because it will have to be a helicopter. So, hopefully you have a working cell phone or satellite phone that is charged up.
