Alone Australia on Netflix
It's a prepper kind of series like a lot of survival stuff you can watch on TV. However, what is interesting to me is I'm watching it with my daughter because mostly I don't watch stuff like this anymore. I guess I was all the survivalist I wanted to be from 1980 to 1985. But, the Craziness of Trump and Musk is making younger people think about survival because it looks pretty bad that anyone not rich is going to survive Trump and Musk Worldwide at least at this point. They are gutting social programs like Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. They are screwing up the survival of every average person here on earth for at least the next several years until Trump dies or something else changes. IN Cutting USAID thousands of people worldwide will likely starve to death or get pretty sick without food, especially babies and young children whose brains will not develop properly even if they survive what Trump and Musk are presently doing.
What I find interesting is that there are two ladies on this who seem to be better prepared than the men to survive this. They seem to find food when almost no one else does. Interesting.
Being alone for men often can be a fatal or near death experience. Women actually sometimes do well in these types of survival situations with the right training. a Big part of survival is psychological. If you are comfortable in the Bush often you can find a way to survive if not, you might not survive.
Men are good when they are hunters for a day or so and then come back to the tribe and talk and be with the women and children. Often alone men don't do well for over a few days time. We are less social than women but we still need to be around the women and children to stay balanced usually.
Here is a funny movie from 1983 with Robin Williams about being a
Survivalist. He and I think Walter Matthau are in this incredibly funny
and useful movie to watch at that time of being a survivalist. This was
way before people called it being a prepper too which is a different
take on the same thing basically.
