Waymo Driverless Taxis are everywhere in Austin

It's sort of creepy though like something out of a Science Fiction movie though. I feel very uncomfortable: Why?

Because the passengers (if there are any) cannot be seen in the back because the windows are tinted. Then you look for the driver and there is no driver (even though there is a steering wheel and likely pedals I believe too. Then they are all white with stuff spinning on the top and back of the vehicle all the time too likely so it can look at everything 360 degrees better.

Though I would never trust one of these driverless things to take me anywhere that is just me.

Also, I started out in life as a computer programmer and realized how dangerous something like this really is if there is any dust in the CPU (central processing unit) or a stray signal that might fry the CPU from literally anywhere.

However, people less technologically aware than myself might just think these things are basically magic.

However, from someone who actually has programmed a lot of things in the past I see them as death traps.

But, to each his own.

I would say in any given Waymo Ride you have a 70 to 90percent chance of surviving it.

Which actually might be better odds than these little electric scooters everywhere around Austin too with the little wheels that go about 30 miles per hour. At least you are surrounded by metal to protect you with a seat belt too in the Waymo vehicles.

So, they still creep me out because I cannot see any people inside at all because of the tinted back windows and they drive around Austin with no one at all at the front driving the vehicle and no one at all in the driver's OR the Passenger seat in the front.

So, welcome to the future everyone!

It's here in Austin if you Dare!
