The argument could be made that it has affected us ever since Russia took Crimea from Ukraine. And that it still affects us now as autonomous. missiles and drones attack Ukraine and Israel and Iran almost any day now.
Why is it important to think this way?
Because this isn't World War II anymore. We are now in a place where in 25 minutes from any location on earth the U.S. or Europe (at any location) could be attacked by Missiles or drones that are non-nuclear and autonomous just like the ones used in Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Iran and Yemen now and in the future.
This isn't ending any of it.
Trump is wrong in thinking that he can stop this. It is eating away already at the fabric of Europe and through Europe it is also eating away at the fabric of the U.S. as well.
People who don't see this are unfortunately fools.
What is the solution?
In the long run there may not be a solution. This might be important to face because of the difficult nature of Autonomous robotic weapons of war.
However, at least in the short run there might be ways to overcome these problems at least for now.
But, the will to stand up to the nations using these weapons regularly must be addressed better than they are right now.
