Though it's true robots could literally be trained to do anything including extinct the whole human race, unless people are suicidal why would they do this? (the people I mean) because robots at least for now are not self aware beings but only constructs of the people who made and designed them. So, to consider them to be self aware when they are not yet is very dangerous.
No. They are only extensions of the people who design and build and program them for now.
So, they will reflect that sanity or insanity of the builders and creators and the users more than anything else.
Will there be accidents where people will be killed by robots?
Of course. This is to be expected.
However, stopping people from building weapons of war might not be possible now. So, I think you are going to see more and more and more people killed by robots both autonomous robots and those controlled directly in the moment by the pilots of these robots worldwide in all sorts of situations.
And many people likely will die and this might increase dramatically over the next century which might be a factor in why only 1 billion people are likely going to be alive or less by 2100 AD.
I'm not really trying to scare people about all this. I'm just trying to make people more aware of what exactly is coming for the human race here on earth. It's not just Global Climate changes it is also military robots in the wrong hands all over the world that are in the air, space, water and on land ongoing now.
One way to survive these things might be living underground simply because if your home or building where you live on the surface of earth could be set on fire or blown up at any moment by air or land drones.
So, preparing to be bombarded by military drones might be helpful especially if you are observing what is happening in Ukraine and Russia with the 7 billion dollars of Bombers recently destroyed by Ukrainian small 900 dollar drones (about 117 of these were used to destroy 7 billion dollars of Russian Bombers capable of carrying cruise missiles.
What to prepare for:
I think watching what happens to people living on the earth in the movie Oblivion(2013) with Tom Cruise says it all regarding military drones gone amuck.
The cause would not be the same but the effects might be. In other words I'm not talking about robotic overlords from outer space I'm talking about military robots run amuck (especially autonomous drones) here on earth killing everyone above ground.

So, the deeper you are living underground the more likely you will survive these cruise missiles and drones that might burn down your homes or blow them up on the surface of the planet.
Remember the fire bombing of Dresden and Tokyo during world war II?
Imagine pilotless drones or cruise missiles doing the same to all the major cities of earth. This could be coming for us all this Century.
