Given that if you are not afraid of heights and you are a good climber with strong legs and strong arms with good coordination climbing Half Dome will be one of the most amazing things you do in your life as it was for me. HOwever, it is about 10 miles to the top from the nearest paved road where you can take a bus to and then 10 miles back down once again. So, if you can't hike 20 miles in a day you might think about carrying a pack and spending the night somewhere along the way if they still let you do this in this area of Yosemite national Park. either way you need to take a flashlight or your cell phone with it's light because you likely are going to need it before the climb and hike are through.
