We moved to our favorite location on Maui last night from Ka'anapali

It's still in West Maui but up the coast a little. Where we are staying we have a room with a refrigerator and stove and a perfect view of the ocean right outside our door of the whole bay here and a view of Lanai and Molokai Islands too. Today is really beautiful and all the rain has gone away for awhile. People here say that it has been too stormy recently to snorkel or paddle board or even swim.

However, today (at least for now) is a perfect day for all of that which is amazing.

We were out on our veranda overlooking the ocean today with Spinner dolphins likely herding schools of fish so they jump out of the water and spin which seems like their favorite thing to do.

I have taken a giant Zodiac boat which holds around 50 people at high speed to Lanai for snorkeling when my kids were in their twenties. My youngest daughter is now 29 and living in Texas with her boyfriend and she made then for this trip to Lanai on a giant zodiac pontoon inflatable boat a mermaid outfit with a monofin so it actually looks like you are a mermaid when you swim through the water. Then my older daughter who has always been amazingly coordinated like me and my father's family wore this outfit and swim underwater and we got an amazing picture of her. Since she has red hair she looked exactly like the Little Mermaid in that Disney movie swimming underwater.

However, realistically she was the only one of us who could have used the monofin without drowning because of her level of coordination. But, we enlarged some of the pictures which now looks like the Little Mermaid of Disney swimming off of Lanai underwater. We have a copy of it now on our bedroom wall which is a nice memory of our family when everyone was younger including us.

Now I'm 77 1/2 years old and my youngest daughter is 29 and living in Texas and my older daughter is living in Europe with her husband and child.

We are right now at our favorite place to stay on Maui which was also my wife's mother's favorite place to stay on the islands. She is the one who first introduced us to this amazing place with a view of both Lanai and Molokai Islands.

However, this place has become very expensive to stay at over the years but we decided to spend two nights here like a cherry on top of a cake for a wonderful trip to Kauai and Maui so far.

If you can come to Hawaii and get away for awhile from the insanity of the rest of the world.

Aloha!
