I learned how to fall without being injured that much when falling while playing Basketball when I was around age 13

I think learning this I sprained my right or left ankle about 13 times playing basketball. Someone would knock you off balance when you were taking a shot at the basket which would make you come down wrong and you would sprain your ankle. So, I learned over time to crumple up and to roll to take the weight off my ankles. Later I developed this style of falling like a tumbler by rolling to take the blow out of the fall upon bones and muscles as much as possible.

So, as a rock climber I have fallen as far as around 40 feet and survived this without any broken bones using this style of falling so it is very effective.

At age 18 I was about 14 feet high installing electrical wiring in a dry cleaners false ceiling and I fell into a pile of wood using this same falling style. Though I couldn't breathe right because the wind was knocked out of me for that time I eventually could breathe right again. Though I have bruises there was no serious damage because by then I had really developed a tumbling style to decompress and not land like a sack of potatoes no matter the situation. The whole point of training yourself to fall is not breaking a hip or arm because a hip broken at my present age could be a problem at age 77.

My cousin's wife was given Amiodarone at too high a dose which caused her to black out and land like a sack of potatoes and she broke her hip and this took over 1 year to heal.

So, if you are conscious when you fall please roll so you don't break something by falling wrong.

But, it is also true that I'm built strong like a Football player so I'm very unlikely to break anything when I fall almost ever. I'm also very big boned because I'm half Scottish even though I'm also 6 foot 5 inches tall.
