Writing

 I think writing around Christmas might be helpful to many of you reading this. Remember, I never intended to publish anything I wrote in 1980 (however, it's also true the Internet didn't really exist yet).

However, what did exist was a form of Email where Dumb terminals (basically keyboards attached to mainframes sent something similar from one university or government office to one another nationwide and worldwide since most government mainframes were all redundant and connected in case of Nuclear warfare they wanted the same information in every major city in the U.S.

The other interesting thing about the 1950s is the main reason for Freeways around big cities was actually so people could get away from nuclear weapons coming in time to survive large city blasts. This was actually the thinking of President Eisenhower who was the Army General who won World War II in Europe. In Japan I think it was General MacArthur if I am correct about this too who was in charge of the Army in that theater of World War II.

Anyway, writing during Christmas Vacation and reading what you write later might be very useful to you and to others even if it is sort of a diary of what you are experiencing. Later when you go back and read this stuff you might think: "Oh. That's what I was thinking then. How do I feel about all that now? Have I changed or evolved since then somehow and become a better person?
