If you live where it might snow or Ice on you (and you are not used to this)

My daughter is in Texas in Austin and we just found out that they went out to find food at a grocery store but everything was sold out. So, this isn't good. I told her to put gas in their vehicles so that if the power goes out in their area that they can stay warm in their vehicles. But, I think they have a fireplace but I don't know if they have wood yet to stay warm.

Normally Austin is pretty hot year around. For example, the first time I went there it was June and too hot for me with Edema because it is hard to balance all that because it is water related (edema) so what you need to do might be the opposite of what you need to do to stay cool in hot weathrt.

Anyway they found some place to buy food and I told her to get some candles but they already have battery powered lanterns and flashlights too. Candles are good when it's cold because you can always warm your hands on the candle flames. They are good in a snow or ice cave too to keep warm also. Your hands warm can keep your body warm too.

They don't know if they are going to get icy roads or snow there but because of where they are I think it's more likely they will get icy roads and falling power lines from the ice storms hitting Texas.

So, Good Luck to everyone who is getting snow or ice not used to driving or surviving it in a power outage. Hopefully, no one dies this time like the several hundred died in Texas the last time something like this happened I think in 2021 from the huge power outage and loss of power and heating so they froze to death mostly in Texas then.

Here is more about all this in 2021. Begin quotes:

At least 246 people were killed directly or indirectly, with some estimates as high as 702 killed as a result of the crisis.
