11,000 years ago sea levels were 400 feet lower worldwide than now

Just as sea levels right now are raising every day worldwide(because all the major oceans of earth are interconnected they also were 400 feet lower worldwide than now too 11,000 to 20,000 years ago because there was so much ice and glaciers from the north pole to around the center of California.

However, at White Sands New Mexico there were 23,000 years ago men and women and mammoths and giant Sloths other beasts. There was a big lake there at White Sands then 23,000 years ago.

That is correct. Approximately 11,000 to 20,000 years ago, during the end of the last ice age (Last Glacial Maximum), global sea levels were roughly 400 feet (120-130 meters) lower than they are today, largely due to water being trapped in massive glaciers and ice sheets.
  • Impact on Geography: This massive drop in sea level exposed continental shelves, connecting landmasses that are now submerged. Key examples included the
    Bering Land Bridge
connecting Siberia and Alaska, and a much larger Florida peninsula.
  • Rapid Rise: The sea level rose rapidly over the following millennia, particularly between 14,000 and 8,000 years ago, as glaciers melted, creating events like
    Meltwater Pulse 1A
    .
  • Result: This rapid rise eventually submerged coastal human settlements and transformed landscapes, such as connecting the
    Mediterranean
    to the
    Black Sea
    .

The majority of this 400-foot rise occurred as massive North American glaciers retreated, leaving behind the modern coastlines.
