To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future

I had an interesting Dream last night:

You know how dreams on one level might not make sense but also do? (in some ways).

In this dream there were Christians and then there were Native Americans trying to practice their native American Religions in the present day. If you have ever watched "1923" on Prime Streaming you know what I'm talking about here. Because Native Americans here in the U.S. were not allowed to practice their religions for a long time. So, the dream was about present day realities of Native American Religions and cultures versus present Christian versus Present native Americans trying to practice their religions now here in 2026. So, we have come a long way now from the kinds of things that happened in "1923" where a girl has to kill a nun to survive her life and to escape but still it isn't perfect here in the U.S. regarding "Freedom of Religion". I think Freedom of religion has always been an ideal that people reached for. Because even in the 1950s when I grew up Native Americans still didn't have Freedom of Religion yet.

However, they did by 1978 partly because of the AIM which is the American Indian Movement which arose along with champions of Black and Brown and Red people's Freedom here in the U.S.

However, now all this is sort of going  backwards under Trump who is a white Racist where people are ONLY allowed to be White Christian and nothing else.

But, there have always been freer times and cycles of less free times. And we appear to be in one of those cycles of less free times here in the U.S. right now especially in regard to religion and even surviving at all if you aren't White today in America.

begin quotes:

Native Americans were legally forbidden from openly practicing their traditional religions for 95 years. The ban began in 1883 with the U.S. government's Code of Indian Offenses and lasted until the passage of the American Indian Religious Freedom Act in 1978.
The Ban (1883)
Initiated by the Department of the Interior, the Code of Indian Offenses was designed to force Native Americans to assimilate into white, Christian culture.
  • Banned Practices: Sacred gatherings, dances (such as the Sun Dance and Ghost Dance), and traditional ceremonies were explicitly outlawed. Tribal religious leaders and medicine men were also heavily restricted or banned from practicing.
  • Punishments: Anyone caught participating faced fines, prison sentences, or the withholding of vital food and treaty rations.
The Aftermath
While the Code of Indian Offenses was officially revised and the outward ban lifted in the mid-1930s, Native religious practices still lacked formal legal protection. Because of this, many Indigenous communities had to take their sacred ceremonies and traditions underground for decades.
Traditional Native religions were not federally protected until August 11, 1978, when President Jimmy Carter signed the American Indian Religious Freedom Act into law.
