I once had this thing up to 145 miles per hour. It was an amazing car and it saved my life more than once because of it's handling characteristics.
Once I was driving north on the 405 freeway near West Los Angeles Wilshire District and I saw a car fly up into the air in front of me. However, I was in the fast lane and screeched then into the emergency lane. I was the ONLY car not destroyed completely because I did this within 12 cars of mine. So, this car literally saved my life not long after I bought it on the 405 freeway in the Los Angeles area. My son when he was 3 years old and I went to see Star Wars in 1977 at a drive in Theater in Sunland California then too when it first came out. He still remembers seeing Star Wars with me when it first came out in 1977. I turned 30 in 1978. We went in my Camaro while I still owned it.
The above incident where a car was flying through the air in front of me on the 405 I didn't even get a scratch on my car at all because it was manueverable enough to survive all this and I was around 20 years old with really good reflexes for survival then too. So, I was physically okay but pretty shaken up what it did to everyone else on the freeway that day.
This was before most people had radial tires and without the wide tires like I had on my car you couldn't do what I did to survive. Even then my tires were screeching to get into the emergency lane before I died then. So, this was a truly amazing car that could to things that most cars then couldn't to survive things like this.
