It drizzled most of the way but this was sort of okay as I look around the world at people dying all over the world from the heat now.
However, when we actually walked out on Cannon Beach (for me it's the first time) it stopped raining and better still my wife could actually walk on this beach sand because it was wet enough to hold together for her with her newest knee replacement which was really painful for her last time we were in Santa Barbara. So, this is the happiest walking on the beach sand experience for her at least at this point in years.
So, she was really happy to experience this. As long as I held her hand for stability she was fine even walking down Cannon Beach because the huge rocks out to sea there sort of look like Cannon Balls or something.
My wife said Cannon Beach (the little tourist town there) reminded her a lot of Avalon Harbor on Catalina Island. Both she and I before we met as children and younger adults sailed to Catalina Island, she with her parents on their yacht and me with my cousin around 1968 and 1970. I also traveled to Avalon For Scuba diving with friends around then on the Great White Steamship which went over there regularly then too. We rented a power boat to Scuba Dive off of then at Emerald Cove.
Here are some images from Google Images of Cannon beach in Oregon just south of Astoria Oregon. Astoria is on the south Side of the Columbia River which is the Border between Oregon and Washington:
