I have seen 3 foot square logs cut for piers that are at least 30 feet long be picked up by waves onto the beach and thrown around like twigs. However, if you happen to be where the water hits it could be fatal. So, respecting logs (even if they are squared off) like they are potential death hazards in storms and sneaker waves is importat so you can survive them from becoming fatal to you or members of your family because right now until August 1st it is really dangerous potentially at northern California Beaches. If Water from a sneaker wave can travel up 150 feet of dry sand then maybe you shouldn't be there if you see this happen at least once while you are there on the beach where there are logs already of various sizes
