I don't believe the Singularity is here yet. However, I do believe we are in a transition into the Singularity right now

 And because this will gradually happen people will be completely unprepared for this when it happens during this transition. And most people will have no idea at all what's going on. I sensed the full danger of the present moment. I was watching a little of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning last night when I was horrified by the realization that in some ways we are already there with beings like "The Entity" talked about in this movie. They already exist. But, most people would never understand it the way I do after studying about programming languages and hardware and software since 1966 in College then.

The Case That It Has Not Arrived

Human-Driven Direction: True singularity requires independent, automated self-improvement without human intervention. Today's models still rely entirely on humans to set goals, provide compute, and manage deployment. 
Commercial Incentives: Critics note that tech executives calling the present moment "the singularity" have a vested financial interest in hyping their own products to investors and policymakers. 
Missing General Competence: Current systems still lack robust physical-world grounding, long-term common sense, and the ability to autonomously invent novel scientific paradigms from scratch.
