I think this is still true but much more true in Thomas Jefferson's time than now.
Why?
Because there hadn't been a democracy like the United States until 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed July 4th 1776.
So, there really hadn't been any really successful country fully in regard to human rights at that point. Even England had had it's problems with Kings at that time especially King George III who thought everyone in the U.S. then was his personal slave and didn't have any rights.
So, now after all these years since 1776 at least we all multigenerationaly have had at least a taste of freedom all these years. However, will it last? That is the real question now. Will any human rights including the right to be alive continue even here in America?
