The die off of poor and middle Class people worldwide

There has likely been no time since the Great Depression and World War II that so many poor and middle Class people were dying worldwide every day now. I thought I would generate good information for you regarding this. Will there be no end to the average person's misery here now on earth?

Visualizing the World's Growing Middle Class (2020–2030)
Global economic inequality causes severe hardship and early mortality, driven by unequal access to healthcare, extreme weather vulnerabilities, and systemic poverty. While data does not support a literal physical "die-off" or extinction of classes, reports from organizations like Oxfam estimate that extreme inequality contributes to tens of thousands of preventable deaths daily due to hunger and lack of medical care.
Drivers of Disparity
  • Healthcare Gaps: High out-of-pocket costs and medical debt disproportionately burden lower- and middle-income households.
  • Rising Costs: Stagnant wages coupled with soaring prices for housing, food, and education strain daily survival.
  • Climate Impacts: Poorer populations face the highest risks from climate change disasters despite contributing the least to emissions.
Global Statistics
  • Extreme Poverty: Roughly 700 million people live on less than $2.15 a day, concentrated heavily in regions like Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Preventable Loss: Inequality-driven factors like malnutrition and healthcare exclusion claim thousands of lives worldwide every single day.

What percentage of the world is middle class?
AI Overview
Depending on how it is measured, roughly 17% to over 50% of the world's population belongs to the middle class. This broad range exists because strict global definitions (like daily income thresholds) differ from broader consumer spending classifications.
Global Definitions and Percentages
  • Strict Middle-Income (17%): According to the Pew Research Center, about 17% of the global population lived on $10.01 to $20 a day (adjusted for purchasing power). In this framework, the majority of people globally were low-income (51%) or poor (10%), with 15% upper-middle and 7% high-income.
  • Consumer Spending Tipping Point (50%+): Estimates by organizations like the Brookings Institution suggest that over 50% (some 3.8 billion people) live in households with enough discretionary income to be considered middle class or rich, meaning they can afford basics plus discretionary spending
