The ice coming down the river was 130 to 160 feet high in Nepal

 

The ice, debris and water came down into the valley, and Ekström estimated that the flood waters were "outrageously high," possibly 130-160 feet high and that the water may have moved as fast as 44 miles per hour.

So, the conditions of this event were almost like a Mountain Tsunami or something like this.

I think as glaciers melt in mountains around the world in other mountain ranges we have to expect other things like this to happen just like something like this happened but nobody died then in the last week in Alaska too. So, this is possibly a new normal we all have to face in mountain ranges as glaciers and the rock and earth behind them crumble one by one around the world during global warming and climate changes everywhere.
