This is likely the coldest day this summer at 56 degrees at almost 1 pm Sunday

 So, I wondered just how hot it must be somewhere else than the northern California coast to make it this cold with High Fog at 1pm?

Paso Robles is 81 going to 88 today

San Ardo is 79 going to 85 today

Palm Springs is 102 going to 106 today

Death Valley is 102 going to 108 today and 113 Thursday

San Francisco is 63 going to 65 today

Los Angeles has reached it's high at 82 today

San Diego has reached it's high of 78 today

So, basically I'm not sure of the answer at this point completely why it's only 56 degrees at 1 pm but it might be weather throughout California and out to sea all the way to Hurricane Lala in Hawaii. 

There is one other thing that might be a factor which is the smoke from the Timber Fire in Big Sur might be reducing sunlight throughout this area and bringing down temperatures (at least away from the fire as the smoke moves on the winds).
