The story I was told at Archangel Gabriel and Hope's Quarter in Winter of 1977 in Pasadena was that Mark Prophet had been driving a metal stake into a railroad track as a young man and in the middle of a Swing of his sledge hammer El Morya took him out of his body and told him to found a religion. At the time Mark Prophet had no idea who El Morya Was. However, in Theosophical circles El Morya would be the Blue Ray of power and Saint Germain would be the Violet Ray of Freedom. I know more about Saint Germain than El Morya, however, but I did go to the summit Lighthouse founded by Mark Prophet and then after he passed away his wife Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
It had many similarities to the Saint Germain Foundation that I grew up in from Birth and I missed my friends from all over the world in the Saint Germain Foundation. However, I realized during the 1970s that being a member of any Church likely wasn't going to work for me because I live by spontaneous accomplishment and churches are more like Armies where you all march lock step and I'm not like that because God moves me totally spontaneously which is an infinite way to accomplishment for God.
However, I benefited a lot from my time especially from 1975 to 1978 and also around 1980 in Camelot at one or two conferences too then as well.
However, God made it clear to me that religious organizations for me at least are way to limiting as to what you can accomplish for God (At least for me).
