Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Ebay, Amazon, Fac...
Every so often I like to see what people are interested in that I write about. Lately this is one of the things people seem to be interested in. But if I add in more elements it isn't just personal computers and the internet that have changed everything economically in the U.S. and the whole world. To make all this make more sense we have to factor in Global Climate Change, the greediness of some investors worldwide with the reduction in the amount of food that is able to be grown because of Global Climate Change. But when we take all these macro factors and slam them all together in real time we get what has happened since about 2005. Often people want to go back to the way things were before the internet but that isn't really possible because so many not globalized companies have gone bankrupt all over the world. So, if you suddenly ended the Internet, so much business has transferred over to this new medium that you likely would just create a 2nd Global Great Depression. So, as far as I can see there is no way back to life without the Internet without some kind of major collapse on a Worldwide scale. So, people who advocate changes that would end the Internet in the western world need to think about this more. Because maybe 15 years ago we could have shut off the Internet without many repercussions. To end the Internet now might take us back to something like life was in the early 1900s.
Then if oil disappears or gets way too expensive on top of this, and this happened rather suddenly, civilization could collapse or end (Sort of like the end of the Roman Empire). So, when people talk about ending the Internet, it just really isn't feasible anymore without having something else to replace it with. And right now, I don't know what that would be.
