Tsunami waves are not like other waves

You might have been to the ocean and seen surfers surfing on 6 foot waves that are about as tall as them or seen this on TV or actually surfed waves like this yourself like I did when I was a teenager and young adult.

However, this is not at all what a tsunami 6 foot wave would be. The first thing that usually happens is the ocean leaves the seashore and might withdraw 100 yards to 1/2 mile so it leaves fish slapping the ground or other sea creatures or sea weed in a terrible state.

A friend told me about this happening in Hawaii in the 1960s and then watching about 200 to 300 people die that ran out to gather up all the fish. They didn't know that this was a harbinger of a tsunami. This likely happened just after the Alaska Earthquake in 1964.

So, imagine a wall of water 6 feet high that moves inland and never breaks. And the power behind this wave is going about the speed of a jetliner with that level of power in the water. So, when they are talking about a 6 foot tsunami they are talking about something potentially fatal in the right conditions because if there isn't much slope and the land is relatively flat it will come miles and miles on shore knocking down anything (including people) in it's path.

6.5 feet is the latest report of the size of the tsunami waves as of right now. Also, as aftershocks hit (unless an even bigger quake hits) might also generate smaller (or larger) tsunamis.

Also, the U.S. possibly will be hit by a 6.5 foot tsunami in 12 to 15 hours depending upon what part of California, Oregon and Washington is properly facing directly to Chile. Also, Hawaii and Japan might also be hit by a tsunami this size or smaller as well as south American countries and islands facing Chile everywhere in the Pacific Ocean.

The power moves through the ocean with the speed approximately of a jetliner once generated by an earthquake this large.
