270 horsepower fans lift you off the ground?

Arca Space Unveils Real Hoverboard That Lets You Fly

I was looking at the above article and it reminded me of old surfers like myself when we took off fins or skegs as older surfers called them from our old long boards and rode them down ski slopes standing up on the old long boards. Later came snow boarding like it is today. So, if you can do this then what could be coming is people snow boarding with hover boards off the ground on top of Snow,  rivers, trails, anywhere. However, 6 minutes isn't enough so people likely would want to have a little gas powered generator powering this thing wherever they wanted to go eventually. So, I think we are looking at a new sport being born here since the fan technology works, now you just need to generate enough power with a light weight gas motor powered electric generator to fly hours and days across all sorts of landscapes including water. Sort of like a jet ski one flies above the ground or water.

So, next you might see people flying across the wilderness (ABOVE) it without harming the local ecology at higher and higher speeds.

Sort of like the above ground motorcycles flying in the Star Wars series without wheels because they don't touch the ground.

Flotation gear might be installed if you wanted to travel over water any distance though so you didn't short out the whole thing or sink if the power or engine or fans cut out suddenly for any reason.

Another interesting thing about above ground hoverboards would be that the wind likely would blow you in the direction of the wind to some degree.

But then, you might be able to set up a sail and go the direction the wind was going too, whichever way that was like a wind surfer only on land but also over water if you wished.

Later: As I thought more during the night about this technology, I realized one could also build a wagon or sled to move heavy things too with this technology for moving things over somewhat flat and uneven surfaces over either land, water or ice. For example, when you create an air space you end friction of something moving forwards like you have when you move over land even with wheels. So, this technology might be developed as a way to move heavy objects the size of a man or heavier more easily over all sorts of surfaces than wheels would.

Another idea as a sport might be to combine a gasoline powered motor from a motorized paraglider that one mounts on their back to fly across the ground powered by a fan horizontally.

Or it might be possible to have two gasoline powered devices like this (one powering the hover board lifting you off the ground and one (the fan on your back) blowing you across the ground at 15 to 25 mph. (The one powering the hover board would be a Gasoline electric generator designed for light weight for sport.

This device I designed as an idea above would then be practical to travel across the ground (for one individual) potentially across snow, ice, water or land with no friction because it doesn't touch the ground.

However, winds would have to be considered blowing wherever you were because they would change your direction depending upon where they were coming from. However, since you are only less than 1 foot off the ground you could reduce your forward motion enough not to be injured by the winds and find ways to compensate for winds in various directions or decide not to ride your hoverboard if the winds became too intense sort of like an airplane pilot often doesn't take off if winds are above about 30 miles per hour in a small plane.
