Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States and possibly one of the most hated in American history. His presidency led to the death and mistreatment of many Native Americans, and his critics labeled him a tyrant. Jackson was born in 1767, and photographed here in 1844 or 1845, shortly before his death.
