I first discovered Subaru All wheel drives because a friend in Mt. Shasta had one. then my daughter bought a Forrester then we bought a Forrester in 2018. I liked the leg and head room and the AWD because I'm very tall about 6 feet five inches. Then because we are older we wanted a bigger car so we got an Ascent which is more like the 2000 Lexus RX 300 (I had a gold one I bought new in 2000) One of the most amazing cars I have ever owned full time 4 wheel drive. I owned this wonderful car from 2000 to 2010.
But, this 2022 Ascent we bought is pretty amazing in any kind of weather including snow on pavement because of the all wheel drive. It also can drive itself (our ascent comes with this ability which I use on long trips or in heavy traffic. Also, it rides like my 2000 Lexus RX300 which was amazing and it didn't make our older backs hurt after 400 or 500 miles of driving to places like Mt. Shasta or Portland Oregon or even to Lake Louise in Canada in June of 2022.
