When I first started to study computers in 1966 in College I began learning about the binary code used in computers. They don't really know any computer languages at all they know only in Binary Code which is a number system based upon zeros and 1s only.
So, i decided to share with you what computers really are. Languages are a way we fake ourselves out into thinking a computer can talk to us in a language we can understand. But, in reality all computers are is a bank of on off switches that can either be off or on. Everything else is sort of slight of hand like a magician uses to fool you about something.
Begin quote from Google AI and Internet:
The binary system, also known as the base-2 system, is a numerical system used in computers that uses only two digits: 0 and 1. These digits, called bits (binary digits), represent data and instructions in a form computers can understand. Computers use binary because it's a simple and reliable way to represent the on/off states of electrical circuits.
How Binary Works:
- Base-2: Each digit in a binary number has a place value that is a power of 2.
Why Binary is Used:
- Simplicity:Binary's simplicity makes it easier to implement in electronic circuits.
Reliability:
Binary signals are less prone to degradation or noise than signals with more states.
On/Off States:
Binary directly corresponds to the on/off states of electrical switches or transistors within a computer.
Foundation of Computing:
Binary is the fundamental building block for all digital computers and computer-based devices.
