We left today to avoid the Labor Day Rush everywhere on Thursday Friday and Saturday. And we could do this because we are mostly retired. So, though there were some places where it slowed down to 40 and 50 in between Stockton and Sacramento the only time we were going 20 or under is right in the middle of the Capitol driving under the overpass there were all the big buildings are in the center of town where INterstate 5 goes through. But, by the time you get to Woodland, California you know you are usually home free (traffic wise)
Mostly it was 100 degrees (or around there) especially from Stockton to Sacramento up to Redding. The hottest part is usually Red Bluff and Redding which was no exception this time either. But, as we drove up into the Pine and fir forests past Redding the temperatures finally dropped down first to 94 and then to 92 and finally to around 85 in Mt. Shasta and by about 8:30 it was 70 degrees which was nice to sit outside and watched the thunderheads move past Mt. Shasta. These are temperatures for Mt. Shasta city not up on the mountain. Even in August it is often freezing or below above 6000 to 7000 feet at least at sometime almost every day of the year
These are the results for the Temperature line up which are pretty good for us this week mostly mid 80s at most up here which should be nice.
