Rain triggers Flooding in California

Between now 1 AM and Thursday night they expect about 10 inches of rain to fall on most of California causing flooding. They also expect 4 feet of new snow in the Sierras at the same time.

What will actually happen I'm not sure because Weather science cannot always be predicted correctly.

However, I had our housekeeper start up our generator to make sure it was running fine because these kinds of storms often blow down trees and we live in a coastal Forest where in big rain and wind storms trees often come down.

One of our neighbor's trees I think fell somewhere around Christmas last year for example, and broke about 10 feet of our fence and broke the railings on  our hot tub and part of the deck but didn't damage the Hot Tub outside itself because it had a foam covering on the Hot Tub that cushioned the Blow. However, luckily it didn't reach the house. It happened at about 6 am so my wife heard it and had me go out to investigate what the noise was.

At first it didn't make sense because I thought it was one of our trees but I knew none of ours that were really big were involved. So, I had to walk all the way around the house to make full sense of it then I saw the roots next door and the fence down and so finally the tree made sense. Luckily, our neighbor hired our mutual landscaping company to cut up the tree and stack the wood and later the wood was removed too.

However I also found out that Timber Tech no longer makes the Redwood looking plastic wood for decking anymore so I had to try to match a color similar to this one which I suppose is okay too.

Any port in a storm I guess. However, my son in law and his 7 years old son were in the hot tub tonight and everything was fine. We have 5 relatives here for Christmas which is nice too.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
