Do I think AI is a good idea?

That's like asking if I think Planes are a good idea.

So, what started with the Wright brothers flying the first motorized Airplane at Kitty Hawk now has us going to the moon into outer space. I compare AI to the invention of both the plane and the missile which I see as two parts of the same thing. So, ICBMS full of nukes are a part of the Airplane too.

So, everything from people flying all over the world now to astronauts and rich people in space for short periods of time and military personnel in Space Stations and eventually colonizing the moon are all a part of what happened after the Wright brothers flew a motorized plane at Kitty Hawk in the early 1900s.

So, is AI a good idea?

It's about as good an idea as people flying around the world in jet planes and living to 500 or more years old eventually but also could nuke the world out of existence in any given moment or enslave the whole human race in some ways to thinking machines.

All these things are possible.

Would you like to see planes like in World War I and World War II again?

I think you are seeing the beginning of this in Drones and missiles of all sizes and machine gun drones on moving platforms on earth taking out whole companies of soldiers like they can in Ukraine now.

So, whether we all live or die or some of us live or others of us die will depend upon how AI is used this Century.

Will We all survive? I think some of us will. Not sure which some of us at present though.
