Why don't people in California lobby for their State government to cut environmental regulations and taxes on gas for lower gas prices?

Popular comment · California had horrid smog back in the day. Environmental regs fixed that. India has basically zero regs, or at least none that people obey. Their air quality is constantly unhealthy. We don’t want that. Some things are more important than money.
