are the two hurricanes tearing up the beaches in California?

I probably should have worded my question more efficiently but the general idea is I wanted to know the damage of the hurricanes through waves at a distance were creating in California especially Southern California
and it looks like there is serious flooding at some locations in Southern California from all this from the ocean waves as you can see in this quote from below:
Coastal Flooding: The combination of large swells and high evening tides has flooded beach parking lots, bike paths, and coastal roads. Places like Seal Beach, Long Beach's Alamitos Peninsula, Malibu, and Newport Beach have been heavily hit by coastal flooding.

begin quote from AI Overview
No hurricanes are directly hitting or making landfall in California, but a powerful hurricane far offshore is heavily battering the coastline with massive waves and flooding.
While there are currently three active hurricanes in the Pacific Ocean (Marie, Lowell, and Karina), they are staying hundreds of miles out at sea and will not make landfall in the United States. However, the strongest of these—Hurricane Marie—is sending intense ocean swells right toward Southern California.
The storm is severely impacting local beaches over the Labor Day weekend:
  • Massive Surf & Backwash: South-facing shores are seeing 5 to 10-foot waves, with some areas experiencing violent 20-foot surges and backwashes that are actively causing significant beach erosion.
  • Coastal Flooding: The combination of large swells and high evening tides has flooded beach parking lots, bike paths, and coastal roads. Places like Seal Beach, Long Beach's Alamitos Peninsula, Malibu, and Newport Beach have been heavily hit by coastal flooding.
  • Lifeguard Rescues: Officials have placed beaches under red-flag conditions. Hundreds of emergency rescues have been performed due to "life-threatening" rip currents, and lifeguards are urging everyone except expert surfers to stay completely out of the water.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory and High Surf Advisory for the Southern California coast that remains active through Tuesday evening.
