Memories of 9-11

 In 2001 I was 53 years old and I was just waking up and my wife came in and said something like:
 "Fred? Is this Science Fiction on CNN or what?"

So, like a dutiful husband before I even went into the bathroom for anything I walked out to reassure my wife that the world wasn't ending.

So, having soloed in a plane myself I looked at the damage of the first building and said to her. "This isn't a private plane that did this. Something much bigger maybe a military plane must have done this." We were watching a live feed on CNN from a helicopter surveying the damage when the helicopter suddenly dropped back from the first tower only to see on the video that a 2nd plane was coming into the 2nd tower.

This was the moment for everyone watching on TV around the world on CNN that struck terror into all our hearts because we knew we were at war with someone after this. A terrorist act of unbelievable magnitude had occurred and the Western world and maybe the whole world would never be the same again.

So, President Bush or "Bush 2" I liked to call him was reading at the time to kids in Florida a children's book called "My Pet Goat" when the secret service rushed in and whispered something in his ear. At first you could see the anger in his face or maybe shock is a better word but he is also the father of two daughters who he has also protected since they were born. So, he calmed himself and kept reading "My Pet Goat" so the kids didn't have to be traumatized by whatever happened too because they were only in Grade school and didn't have to be scared out of their minds like all the adults watching TV worldwide were that moment.

Then private planes if they flew the next day or two would have been shot down so all planes except military planes were threatened on pain of death not to fly for a day or so.

And all passenger planes from other countries were forced to land in other countries as soon as all this happened too and almost 3000 people died that day in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and in the Pennsylvania Crash of a passenger plane there too caused by another group of terrorists.
