what are the most important things to know for someone to survive here on earth?

I was really surprised at the direction this all took but realized after reading this that this is one way to look at all this. I would have taken it a different direction than pure physical survival because:
"Man does not live by Bread alone". and yes "Men and women don't live by Bread alone either"

The most important framework for human survival on Earth is the Rule of Threes: you can survive 3 minutes without air, 3 hours without shelter in harsh conditions, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food.
The Core Survival Priorities
  • Air and Breathing: Oxygen is an immediate necessity; compromised airways or toxic environments cause unconsciousness and death within minutes.
  • Shelter and Temperature: Exposure to extreme heat, wind, rain, or freezing cold can cause fatal hypothermia or hyperthermia remarkably fast.
  • Water Hydration: Dehydration impairs cognitive and physical function within hours and turns fatal in just a few days. Always source clean or boiled water, as parasites and viruses in untreated water cause severe illness.
  • Fire: Fire provides warmth, cooks food, purifies water, and boosts morale. Mastering fire-starting techniques and keeping dry tinder is essential.
  • Food and Foraging: Starvation takes weeks, making food a secondary priority behind immediate environmental threats. Focus only on positively identified local edible plants or safe protein sources.
Essential Practical Skills
  • Land Navigation: Knowing how to read terrain, use a physical map and compass, and orient yourself by natural landmarks prevents dangerous disorientations.
  • First Aid: Basic emergency medical knowledge—such as stopping severe bleeding, treating burns, and managing shock—stabilizes trauma before professional help arrives.
  • Situational Awareness: Actively reading your environment for weather shifts, animal tracks, or hazards keeps you out of dangerous scenarios.
  • Calm Mindset: Panic clouds judgment and wastes energy; controlled, rational decision-making is your best tool in a crisis. For detailed training concepts and outdoor strategies, review the The Survival University basic tips.
