Yes. I think that is a fair statement. However, for now, we have to deal with both the way things presently look.
So, in it's present context we have what looks like the beginning of some kind of world war made even more crazy by the Ebola Virus out of control of any government or governments at this point in Africa.
But, Ebola might prevent a war eventually as it gets worse by destroying so many governments that all nations left standing just have to fight Ebola and stop fighting each other.
Which in some ways makes sense because this war (or whatever you want to call it) has the primary cause of overpopulation and Global Climate change. So, if Ebola reduces population levels it could stop a World War that kills everyone with nuclear weapons.
So, in that sense Ebola could prevent the end of all life on Earth.
