Pacific Coast Highway reopened Thursday afternoon after being shut down Thursday morning after the first of a series of storms moved into Southern California and resulted in flooding and mudslides along the highway.
PCH reopened just before 4:30 p.m. according to the city of Malibu.
Lanes had been shut down since 10:20 a.m., from northern Broad Beach Road to Las Posas, due to the mudslides and flooding.
No vehicles were allowed to enter northbound at Yerba Buena Road and southbound at Las Posas as a hard closure was in place.
Northbound PCH at Decker Canyon Road and southbound PCH at Las Posas Road was also under a hard closure.
At Broad Breach Road, where a soft closure was in effect, residents with proper identification were being allowed to pass through, officials said.
